Hospice Regatta set for Aug. 18-19
/Sewell Mountain Sailing Association and Hospice of Southern West Virginia are pleased to announce that the seventh Mountain Mama Hospice Regatta has been scheduled for Aug. 18-19, 2018.
The formal Notice of Race notifies prospective competitors, some of whom have come previously from throughout West Virginia, from our neighboring states and from far beyond. We are planning for our best event yet.
The annual event at Summersville Lake has raised more than $50,000 since 2011, each year helping Hospice of Southern West Virginia to provide compassionate care to hundreds of people in their final days of life.
A flood in 2016 required cancellation of the annual event after devastating large and small communities in the West Virginia counties of Nicholas, Clay, Raleigh, Fayette, Summers, Greenbrier and Kanawha, among others.
Sewell Mountain Sailing Association is a registered non-profit West Virginia corporation organized for educational and charitable purposes.
