The Battle Run Recreation Area is easy to find, even if you're unfamiliar with this area.

The Google map linked here shows the route from U.S. 19 at Mt. Nebo, south of Summersville and north of U.S. 60. For most, the quickest and easiest access to U.S. 19 will be from Interstate 77 (at Beckley) or Interstate 79 (just south of Sutton). U.S. 19 from Beckley to Summersville is dotted with several small towns, and it's a very good four-lane highway but a little extra caution there is advised, especially when towing a boat. We also hear that speed enforcement can be especially strict in that area, so y'all be careful!
